The Conseil Intermunicipale de Transport Sorel-Varennes (CIT Sorel-Varennes) is the transit operator serving the municipalities of Varennes, Saint-Amable, Verchères, Contrecoeur, Saint-Roch-de-Richelieu, Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel and Sorel-Tracey.
History
The Conseil Intermunicipale de Transport Sorel-Varennes was formed in 1984. Over the years operators were awarded the contract to provide the service. The contract was awarded to Autobus La Québecoise in 1992. CIT Sorel-Varennes took over operations in Saint-Amable in 1998.
In 2011, the contract was awarded to Le Groupe Transbus and began operating for CIT Sorel-Varennes on January 1st, 2012.
