The Conseil intermunicipal de transport Le Richelain (CIT Le Richelain) is a public transportation service operating within Montreal-South Shore municipalities of Candiac, La Prairie and Saint-Phillipe. ===2014 Fare Structure===
CIT Le Richelain was formed in December of 1984, along with various other CIT Systems in order to have a focused local service.In the beginning, CIT Le Richelain operated in the cities of La Prairie, Candiac, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Saint-Luc, and L'Acadie and the service was contracted out to the Société de Transport du Rive-Sud de Montréal, who maintained the service until December of 1991.


Effective August 11th, 2014 to December 31st, 2014.
On January 1st, 1992 the contract was operated by Autobus La Québecoise, a private operator based out of Québec City, Québec.
 
In 1997, a contract was awarded to Transidev Inc. which later became Société Gestrans to manage the logistics of the service. In late 1997, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu and Saint-Luc left the CIT Le Richelain in order to form their own private transportation system.
 
In 1999, Saint-Philippe joined the CIT Le Richelain to provide service within the city.
 
After the merger of many cities in 2001, the services in L'Acadie were dropped when the city merged with Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, bringing CIT Le Richelain to what is is known today, serving the residents of Candiac, La Prairie and Saint-Phillipe.
 
In August 2014, the system went through a redesign of the network to make it more efficient. Along with the redesign, CIT Le Richelain in partnership with the [[Agence Métropolitaine de Transport]] opened up the Stationment Incicatif de Candiac.

The Conseil Intermunicipal de Transport Le Richelain provides public transportation services for the towns of Candiac, La Prairie and Saint-Phillipe.

History

CIT Le Richelain was formed in December of 1984, along with various other CIT Systems in order to have a focused local service.In the beginning, CIT Le Richelain operated in the cities of La Prairie, Candiac, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Saint-Luc, and L'Acadie and the service was contracted out to the Société de Transport du Rive-Sud de Montréal, who maintained the service until December of 1991.

On January 1st, 1992 the contract was operated by Autobus La Québecoise, a private operator based out of Québec City, Québec.

In 1997, a contract was awarded to Transidev Inc. which later became Société Gestrans to manage the logistics of the service. In late 1997, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu and Saint-Luc left the CIT Le Richelain in order to form their own private transportation system.

In 1999, Saint-Philippe joined the CIT Le Richelain to provide service within the city.

After the merger of many cities in 2001, the services in L'Acadie were dropped when the city merged with Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, bringing CIT Le Richelain to what is is known today, serving the residents of Candiac, La Prairie and Saint-Phillipe.

In August 2014, the system went through a redesign of the network to make it more efficient. Along with the redesign, CIT Le Richelain in partnership with the Agence Métropolitaine de Transport opened up the Stationment Incicatif de Candiac.
