Pie-IX is a station on the green line of the Montreal Metro.

History

Pie-IX station is named after Pope Pius IX (Born Giovanni Maria Mastai Ferretti) (1792-1878) elected as the 253rd pope in 1848.

Pie-IX was originally supposed to be the south terminus of the proposed Line 7, and the brick walls of the station were originally supposed to be olive green, but were changed to brown last minute.

Location

Pie-IX station is located in the borough of Mercier-Hochelage-Maisonneuve on the corner of Pierre-De-Coubertin street and Pie-IX boulevard.
