Using someone else's work

You can use others work provided you have the written authorization of the author. You should not however modify any part of the file or add any copyright or "used with permission" watermark.

Pictures uploaded on Mystic's Transitfan Network Gallery can be re-uploaded to TransitfanWiki without authorization if no copyright information is present on the picture or album and if it respects guidelines about authorized ratios and file types. Please add the following information the the summary box: "Picture from Mystic's Transitfan Network Gallery / Author: [Author name]" and on another line the link to the gallery page the picture was taken from.

Gallery users can also give their consent to the use of their pictures on TransitfanWiki in the appropriate forum thread. In this case you can upload pictures without modifying them if they respect the guidelines regarding ratios and file sizes. Please add in the following information in the summary box: "Picture from Mystic's Transitfan Network Gallery, used with the author's permission / Author: [Author name]" and on another line the link to the gallery page the picture was taken from.

Using your files

To include a file in a page, use a link in one of the following forms:

 • to use the full version of the file
 • to use a 200 pixel wide thumbnail (standard size for images included in tables)
 • for directly linking to the file without displaying the file

Image names are case-sensitive. For example, if an image is called Picture.jpg then neither picture.jpg nor Picture.JPG will find it.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE ASPECT RATIO OF YOUR PICTURE / VIDEO

WIDTH ÷ LENGTH = RATIO
 • If the ratio is between 1.495 and 1.505, the aspect ratio of your file is 3:2
 • If the ratio is between 1.328 and 1.338, the aspect ratio of your file is 4:3
 • If the ratio is between 1.772 and 1.782, the aspect ratio of your file is 16:9

If the result of the operation is any other number your file need to be resized before being allowed to be uploaded on TransitfanWiki.
