Greetings, and welcome to the Transitfan.com forums. My name is Mad Mark, but most people just call me Mark.
My interest in transit goes back many years. When I was a little kid, I loved trains, and was a huge railfan. In 1999, I entered high school, and I began to take the bus to and from school each day. Thus began my fascination with buses. That same year, I began collecting bus and rail schedules from around the world. My collection has grown immensely over the years, and currently has over 3,600 items.
I joined the transit fanning scene in the summer of 2008, when I joined the Canadian Public Transit Discussion Board (CPTDB). That same year, I met Mystic and he invited me to post my pictures in a free photo gallery on this site. I gladly accepted, and now my gallery features over 2,000 photos from the Greater Montreal Area and many other places.
I remained on the CPTDB for a little over two years. In September 2010, I left the forum due to irreconcilable differences with members of their management team. After my departure from the CPTDB, I was welcomed with open arms to the Transitfan.com forums, where I have been posting on a regular basis ever since. In addition to posting sightings and other transit-related things, I manage a roster of the STM's 1st-generation LFS buses, which are slowly being retired from active service.
The Transitfan.com forums are more than just about transit. They serve as a place where we can relax, enjoy ourselves, and even learn new things, all in a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere where anyone is welcome. We often engage in random discussions on varying topics, ranging from sports to daily happenings, and virtually everything in between.
When I'm not chasing buses or posting on this forum, I work as a sports writer and radio broadcaster. In fact, my forum name of Mad Mark is the on-air name I use on CJRS AM 1650.
